Biological Science Technician/Wildlife

Primary Responsibilities: 
Technician for the Crane Restoration Ecology Team, working with endangered and non-endangered cranes, in particular projects involving Whooping Cranes, in their captive propagation, reintroduction, and eventual recovery.

Education/Training: 
Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science, Pennsylvania State University, 1996

Areas of Expertise/Interest: Whooping Crane propagation and restoration; hand-rearing whooping crane chicks for release into the wild
Accomplishments/Awards/Achievements: 
1998-2000: Certificate of recognition for dedication to the Crane Restoration Ecology Team at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center

Restoration ecology of a nonmigrating population of whooping cranes in Florida: behavioral and habitat changes to increase survival

Restoration ecology of a migratory flock of whooping cranes from Wisconsin to Florida

Development of methods for the restoration ecology of cranes
