PVC Pipe Refugia: A Sampling Method for Studying Treefrogs

Elizabeth Domingue O'Neill and Robin G. Boughton

This paper addresses the use of PVC pipes as a method for sampling treefrogs. Recommendations are presented for the use of pipes including study design, biases associated with this method, benefits of this method over other sampling schemes, and aspects of this methodology that require further study. Data recorded from a current study is used to demonstrate the type of information that can be collected with the use of PVC pipe refugia.
