Conducting a BBS Point Count
  • At each BBS stop a 3-minute bird point count is conducted. Use a timer to keep track of the 3-minute time periods. If you have never conducted a 3-min point count before, you should familiarize yourself with the technique prior to conducting a survey.
  • Record only those birds detected during the 3-minute point counts.
