Vehicles and Excessive Noise (continued)
Constant excessive noise that reduces the ability to detect singing birds (>45 seconds/3-min count), other than that produced by the counted vehicles, can be indicated on the data sheets as well. Sources can include, but are not limited to, trains, crop dusters, oil well pumps, lawn mowers, barking dogs and rushing river water. If you temporarily suspend the 3-min count until the offending noise has passed by, then do not indicate excessive noise for that stop.
