Primary Responsibilities: 
Technical development of national and regional population and habitat survey programs, with emphasis on development, maintenance, and integration of web-based data management tools.

Education/Training: 
M.S. in Biology, California State Univ., Long Beach, 1995 
  Thesis: Song variation in insular and mainland rufous-crowned sparrows.

B.A. in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution, University of California, San Diego, 1988 

Areas of Expertise/Interest: 
Bird monitoring: my primary interest is in working with biologists and land managers to help them meet their needs for maintaining, sharing, and getting the most from their bird monitoring data. My primary tools for pursuing this involve the development of browser-based data management tools using relational databases, ColdFusion, and geospatial technologies.

Breeding Bird Atlas Explorer / mapping (try it out for the entire Northeastern US!)

NBII Bird Conservation Node (continued input and participation)

For Monitoring programs at PWRC: developing web & non-web GIS capabilities, & supporting database management, development, and integration.
