Wildlife Biologist

Primary Responsibilities: 
As a Research Assistant and Co-investigator, is responsible for conducting applied studies of waterfowl population and habitat dynamics in the Lower Mississippi River Valley.

Education/Training:
B.S., Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, 1995, Zoology
M.S., Auburn University, 2001, Wildlife Sciences

Areas of Expertise/Interest: 
Areas of interest and expertise include: (1) ecology of waterfowl and wetland birds; (2) habitat use of wood ducks and other waterfowl during the breeding season; (3) management of wetlands as waterfowl habitat; and (4) use of radio telemetry to monitor breeding ecology and estimate mortality of waterfowl.

Evaluating rice fields as foraging habitat for waterfowl to improve delivery of the Lower Mississippi Valley Joint Venture

Food production and avian use of moist-soil impoundments in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley

Maintaining and serving a bibliographic database to North American waterfowl and their wetland habitats
