Museum Specialist, Collection Manager, Birds

Primary Responsibilities: 
Serves as a Museum Specialist/Collection Manager in the Curatorial Project of the Biological Survey Unit and assists with the curation and management of the North American Bird Collections. Duties include the acquisition, identification, preparation, care, and permanent preservation of bird specimens and the management of North American bird specimen records in the National Museum of Natural History.

Education/Training: 
Prince Georges Community College  A.A., 1968-1970
Towson State College  B.S., Biology 1970-1972

Areas of Expertise/Interest:  Curation, care, and management of systematic vertebrate collections. Special interest in the preparation of bird specimens including complex multiple preparations (study skin, skeleton, genetic tissue, alcoholic, etc.) to ensure maximum use of individual specimen.
