| | Title | Technical Assistance to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Kirtland's Warbler Recovery |
| | Team - Kenneth Ennis |
| | Project Description | Dr. Bocetti serves on the Kirtlands Warbler Recovery Team, and Chairs the Research Committee |
| | for the team. She has been an associate of this team since 1986. She has chaired the Research |
| | Committee since 1993, and has been a full voting member of the team since 1998. This Recovery |
| | Team meets twice a year, and plays a crucial role in maintaining the interagency cooperation for |
| | the management of this species. In addition to USGS, the agencies represented on the team |
| | include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), the U.S. Forest Service and Michigan |
| | Department of Natural Resources. The team has recently expanded its membership to include |
| | members that represent the Bahamas and Canada. In 2000, the team modified the recovery goal |
| | statement, and is considering a complete revision of the Recovery Plan. As Chair of the Research |
| | Committee, Dr. Bocetti reviews all research proposals, distributes them to fellow committee |
| | members, collates committee member responses, and reports to the entire team regarding |
| | support for the proposal. In addition, she maintains the list of research needs for this endangered |
| | species. Most recently, Dr. Bocetti coordinated the netting, banding and feather collection |
| | activities for the Kirtlands warbler recovery efforts in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at the |
| | request of the FWS Lansing Field Office. |
