Technical Assistance in assessing and developing instream flow and river management

policies

Project Description

Ongoing research on effects of river and watershed management on ecological integrity of

flowing-water systems provides information that can be used presently to help guide management

decisions. This technical assistance involves conferring with resource management agencies and

other partners in a variety of settings to provide research-based input on current issues in instream

flow and river management. Activities include meetings with USFWS and other federal and state

resource management agencies, non-governmental organizations and academic scientists to

provide input on specific river-management questions and on research designs to address

questions.
