| | FWS relies heavily on research and technical assistance provided by PWRC, in cooperation |
| | with other USGS personnel and partners, to manage rare aquatic resources. Recent FWS and |
| | PWRC collaborations in the Southeast include development of the Etowah River Regional |
| | Habitat Conservation Plan to protect and recover three listed and four imperiled fish species; an |
| | evalution of water availability for ecological needs using the Flint River, Georgia, as a pilot |
| | study; development of non-biased methods to estimate abundance and distribution of fish |
| | species with low capture probability; a prioritized GIS inventory of culverts, dams, and other |
| | impediments to fish passage in priority Coosa River basin watersheds; and evaluation of the |
| | effects of proposed drinking water reservoir options and flow regimes on fish communities and |
