Big News: We're Moving!
The Marsh Bird Database is temporarily going offline while we complete a transfer to Point Blue Conservation Science
, part of the Avian Knowledge Alliance
Data access: Data owners may login and access a copy of their data but reports and editing features of this website are now offline (Jan 30 2014). After the transition, when your data is available via the Point Blue website, we will post a link here.
We will maintain a snapshot of your dataset in a Microsoft Access file for a year as a backup. Once you begin adding to or editing your data via the new site however, be aware that this snapshot will be out of date.
Where are my data going? In 2013 a team of partners at Point Blue and in USFWS and USGS worked on a plan to transition data, and we are making the switch now. All data are moving from this repository at USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center into the capable hands of our partners at Point Blue Conservation Science. As part of the Avian Knowledge Network, the repository housing your data will have a greater set of tools & reports to manage and share your data.
Concerns? If you have data in this database and have any concerns, please drop me an email and let me know: firstname.lastname@example.org. It has been a pleasure working with you, and I know you will find this is a positive step in managing your data for avian conservation. This transition applies to the Point Count Database, as well as the Marsh Bird Database.
