Painted Buntings may be found at all Birding Trail Sites except the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge during late April to early September. Some of the sites have abundant Painted Buntings, especially Altamaha Wildlife Management Area, Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge, Skidaway Island State Park, and Fort Pulaski National Monument.
