Emerging Diseases Working Group Plans

The purpose of the emerging diseases working group is to establish protocols for monitoring baseline health and disease prevalence in reptile and amphibian populations in the northeast region. The first step for the group is to develop working relationships with regional partners to monitor the prevalence and spread of amphibian Chytrid fungus (Batrachochytridium dendrobatidis). We plan to add additional diseases, infectious agents, and corresponding protocols as time goes on.
