Various sampling techniques including pitfall transects, pitfall arrays, quadrat sampling and opportunistic, time-constrained searches are being used to monitor amphibians in Fundy National Park, NB. These techniques have been modified for the terrain of eastern Canada as well as for a cost-effective, two-year project. Each technique has limitations for monitoring different species of amphibians, therefore it is necessary to use a combination of methods.
