Training: BBS Methodology - Data Recording and Submission [page 30/34]
Data Entry
  • The scanner can only read neat Arabic numbersData may be submitted to the BBS office by participants via the Internet, or the data sheets can be mailed to the BBS office for data entry.
Participants are encouraged to use the data collection forms supplied by the BBS office, but may use forms of their own device if submitting the data via the Internet. However, we ask that all forms are 8 ½ x 11-inches in size to facilitate paper management; letter sized paper (8 ½ x 11 inches) is easier to photocopy and file. Also, the date, route number and observer name should be on each page of the data sheets.
  • If the data are not submitted via the web, then the scannable data sheets must be filled out using Arabic numbers (i.e., 1, 2, 3, …, 10, 11, etc.) and mailed to the BBS office along with the original data sheets. The scanner can only read neat Arabic numbers.
