This fact sheet will help you remove bands from your inventory that you have entered in error. This means that you entered some part of the band numbers incorrectly - such as using the wrong prefix for the whole series - i.e., 1450 instead of 1451 for prefix.
Removing bands from your inventory should only be done if you typed in the wrong band number series or if you returned them to the banding office. Bands that have been recorded as "Used", CANNOT be removed easily. If you have used some of these bands, you will need to delete the banding records for each band before continuing with the following example. If you have large spans of bands marked as used in error, click here for information on fixing the problem.
For the example, lets say that you entered the series of bands 1050-87501 to 1050-87600 by mistake, meaning to enter 1051-87501 to 1051-87600. To remove these bands, you will need to do the following:
| Now you are on the Band Manager - Band Inventory Screen. Click the Remove Bands button. |
![]() |
| You will now see the Band Manager - Remove Bands screen. Your cursor will be in the prefix text box. Enter the prefix of the band series that you would like to remove, e.g., 1050 and press Enter. | ![]() |

You have now completed the steps to remove that band series from your inventory. You can exit back to the Main Menu.
