 | Evaluate precision, bias, and efficiency of several sampling methods for amphibians. |
| Conduct validation studies to determine the relationship between capture indices and adjusted population estimates using capture-recapture. |
| Implement park-wide monitoring programs that provide pilot data on spatial and temporal variation in population size of amphibians. |
| Assess spatial and temporal variation or changes in amphibian populations in relation to environmental variables. |
| Document contaminant levels in the redback salamander (Plethodon cinereus) along an elevational gradient. |
| Establish monitoring program for the endangered Shenandoah salamander (Plethodon shenandoah) and provide population genetics information on this species to the Park. |
