BBS Methodology Introduction
BBS Map The BBS is a point count based roadside monitoring program. Currently there are over 4100 BBS routes scattered across the continental U.S. and Canada.

Each roadside survey is approximately 24.5 miles (39.2 km) long and comprised of 50 point counts spaced at 0.5-mile (800-m) intervals to form a point count transect called a BBS route.
