Training: BBS Methodology - Point Counts [page 12/34]
Point Counts
Magnolia WarblersIf you are taking this training, you probably already have excellent bird identification skills and have spent many hours in the field birding. However, conducting an avian point count is vastly different than going out for a casual morning of bird watching. The main difference is that point counts are time constrained. Developing the techniques to effectively identify and count the birds in an area within 3 minutes can take some practice even for the best birders.
